The Area

Costigliole d'Asti is located halfway between Asti and Alba (15 km each way) and is characterised by a mighty castle, which impresses every visitor on arrival. An international cooking school (ICIF) is located inside the castle. On the way to Alba, you drive through the picturesque wine villages of Castagnole delle Lanze, Neive and Barbaresco. Alba invites you for a stroll through the narrow streets with its various shops, numerous restaurants and charming taverns offering an excellent value for money. The famous truffle market in Alba takes place from mid-October to late November. The area of Barolo, where the famous red wine of the same name is pressed, extends further south. Turin, the capital of Piedmont with its miles of inviting arcades, is located 60 km northwest of Costigliole d'Asti.

Wine

Costigliole d'Asti, the largest municipality in the region of Asti is home to over 100 wineries with professional as well as family-run tasting opportunities. The best-known grape varieties are Barbera d'Asti and Moscato d'Asti.

Sport

The unique rolling hills and picturesque vineyards are ideal for hiking and cycling tours. The outdoor 50-meter pool in Costigliole d'Asti is situated in an idyllic forest glade. Five golf courses, including the famous Golf Club Margara, can be reached within 30 minutes (Golf Courses).

You can reach the Ligurian coast in only 75 minutes, an ideal day trip to the seaside.
